Discipline and Rewards at The Rookeries
Children are encouraged to develop good self-discipline through our School rules that are simple, common sense and kept to a minimum. School rules exist in order to protect the whole school community. The support of parents in respect of discipline matters is vital to the smooth running of the school and to an orderly community.
Minor discipline issues are dealt with, in the first instance, by class teachers and sometimes it is necessary to issue incident sheets to children. More serious issues are handled by the Head teacher or Deputy Head and it may be necessary for you to meet with them to discuss concerns from time to time.
The school operates a positive behaviour policy whereby good behaviour and hard work is rewarded through praise, incentive stickers and certificates. Certificates for effort are presented in Achievement Assembly each Friday morning.
Our 6 Golden Rules which can be seen all around school are:
Be kind and gentle
Be polite and helpful
Be honest
Work hard and try your best
Look after property
Be safe
